Watch Now: Tishan Hsu featured in Art21’s Extended Play

Lisson is pleased to announce the premiere of Digital Flesh, a new short film on Tishhan Hsu. As part of Art21’s Extended Play digital series, the film offers an intimate look at the artist’s practice, tracing his work’s evolution from the 1980s to the present day.

Through footage from Hsu’s studio and a printmaking workshop in New York, the film explores the artist’s ongoing investigation into the shifting boundaries between the body and technology. Combining silicone casts, stainless steel and digitally manipulated imagery, Hsu’s work draws on the visual languages of medicine, computing and biology to consider how technological systems are reshaping the human body and its relationship to the world.

The film also offers a behind-the-scenes look at works featured in New Work: 2026, Hsu’s exhibition at The Intermission in Piraeus, Greece, on view until 19 December 2026.
